to end off the year, we were to use construction paper to form "space". haha. and surprisingly, everyone single one of us in class managed to, in some way or another, construct space out of that few pieces of paper. hmm. it seems like we've all turning into interior freaks. haha. nonetheless, this exercise had proved that we've actually learnt something over the past year.
we can apply the knowledge just by so simply. we can explore space. we can create space now. we've all become interior designers.

finally! the final model! the last model i'll ever be doing for my first year in poly is now completed and submitted. nonetheless, here's a little information on it. haha.
basically, the final model is pretty much similar to the mock up. however, taking the lecturer's suggestions to consideration, i've made some changes to the model. although these changes aren't quite significant and does not change the look of the entire shophouse, they would and could help in allowing a better overview of the shophouse. in the final model, i've added in hinges at a side of the shophouse, thus allowing the side to be able to swing open, giving an easier and better view into the shophouse. also, a portion of the second story is detachable. this would, also, allow one to look into the shophouse with much ease.
another point to note, the entire facade and interior space of the shophouse is exactly the same as the mock up model. however, the materials i used have changed. instead of using black mounting board, i have changed to using black board with the core also being black in color. this is to create a more unify form for the entire shophouse.
